You Should first get on some medication to help with the Bi-polar. If you still love her marriage counseling could not hurt. divorce is not always the awnswer however it takes two to make a marriage work. Issues before a marriage can be tough and without a impartial third party to help it'll never work. Maybe she thought marriage would solve the problems. I'm sure she want's things to work as well she may be at the end of her rope. If you love her reconect and discover it is that drew you together to start with. I can say all of this from experience, like you have the exact same story. I wish you luck. If you want her go get her and do whatever it takes to make it work. My situation not a happy ending,he refused to get help for us. Please don't make that mistake.

I went to marriage counseling only to see my wife leave. Yes, separation is what the marriage counselor recommended. I do believe individual counseling is more effective because the only person who can change is yourself.

NO! Marriage counseling does not work. You have to work on yourself. Fix yourself and your marriage will follow. Bi-polar and marriage is NOT a good combination, and almost certainly doomed to fail if you don't get on medication. If you love her, get on medicine and seek therapy.

Counseling, like every other practice in the world, works for some, not for others. If you feel like you need to, it probably won't hurt. You getting some medication too, might not hurt. If you want to keep your marriage together, be prepared to fight for it with whatever tools you can find, even if some of them seem unpleasant.
