How much time are you allowed for marriage counseling when divorce is almost final?
April 11th, 2008
One of us has already signed the drafted final decree, the other one hasn't. How much time are we allowed before we must decide whether to proceed with the divorce or to dismiss it? The one that signed doesn't want the divorce, but is afraid to trust that it won't happen again & would like some more time before deciding one way or another. We live in a no fault state and we do have attorneys. I'm going to contact mine tomorrow and ask him. I just wondered if anyone might know because I am so worried and nervous about this!
the court doesn't give you a time limit – you brought the action to the court, you can hold off on completing it. You just cancel the court date (if you have one) and just leave it pending. Or dismiss it all together, and hopefully, never start over.
The Art of Pain ipod I know a couple that keeps their unsigned divorce papers on the refrigerator door to remind them how close they came to ending it.

I think the courts give you 30 days. But thats a guess on my part. Contact an attorney.
