Yes, My wife & I see a councilor from time to time to help address those pesky issues that pop up all the time. I would recommend it. But I would tell you not to wait till your marriage is in the toilet.

Of course it works, it's work from both sides and needs your commitment. It's a pitty to lose someone you love over some problems. Pick your battle, you'll gain his attention and respect. Give each other space. Try to be happy, and do something new with him; movies, walk in the park on a Sunday, look your best and surprise him with a romantic dinner. My best friend's mother once told me: marriage is like merging 2 stones into being one stone, it takes years for the nature to do that. No marriage is perfect, it's a hard work and communications. Respect each other's individuality and opinions. Don't try to change each other, this won't happen, it'll make you both angry at each other & build more resistance between you. Accept each other the way you are and try to change the way you treat each other. Good Luck and I hope things will work out for you!

It has worked for us. It has not made life perfect but it has shown us that we will do anything to avoid a divorce.

Counseling definitely works but both of you have to be willing to accept changes and be open minded. If one of you is not willing to be honest and open minded it will not work

It seems that you already know what mistakes both of you are making, so chances are that if you go to a counselor it will benefit both of you a lot more than for a couple that is still trying to figure out what is wrong. Good Luck!

Yes, marriage counseling can work. Both of you have to want to put the effort and take advice and compromise. I wish you the best and hope your marriage works out.

You have a good chance of making it work. you stated the you both love each other and are willing to get help.

Yes it worked. It will only work if both people put in the time and energy...it can be a rough road, but have a very fulfilling ending.
