For most couples, does it help to improve marriages? Does it change ones outlook and help one or both people decide on what they want?
Does marriage counseling really work?
Marriage counseling can work in several ways. First, it helps one or both parties identify the problem and a neutral person to look objectively at them. Secondly, either or both parties may realize that what they have been doing is jeopardizing the relationship and they may, from that new information, learn how to do things differently. Lastly, whether the marriage can be sustained or not, who ever goes to counseling will benefit from understanding better what went on, what went wrong, and what to do to move forward. Good luck.
