1:Communicate. A marriage is nothing without communication-and that doesn’t mean arguing and snapping at each other all the time-that’s not real communication. Communication means switching the TV off for once and sitting down and talking over your day, or letting your partner know in a direct way when there is a problem. A marriage is rarely harmed by some good direct communication.

2:Admit when things are wrong. During a serious relationship it can be very easy to let yourself gloss over things and make believe that everything will be okay. In truth though, if you do this you aren’t being true to yourself, your partner, or your marriage. Problems in marriages are like snowballs rolling down a hill-it’s easier to stop them early. Again, the easiest way to do this when a problem does arise is by simple communication between you both.

3:Know the difference between falling in love and maintaining a loving relationship. Falling in love can often be like being intoxicated, the subject of your love can do no wrong and all different areas of your brain are impaired due to your preoccupation with them. Unfortunately, this state rarely lasts past the first few years of marriage, so in many cases it’s necessary to work together at maintaining a healthy and loving relationship.

4:Put a little karmic theory into your marriage-you get what you give, so if you do everything you can to make your partner happy, the chances are they will step up their efforts to make you happy. The more effort you expend making your partner understand how much they mean to you, the more likely it is for them to reciprocate.

5:Learn that mending a relationship doesn’t mean mending your partner. A marriage includes you both, and so any issues or situations always include both of you. You can’t fix things by modifying the behaviour of one person, it has to be a team effort. People aren’t like animals, and you shouldn’t have to “marriage train” your partner into making you happy. It’s not fair on them, and it’s not fair on you.

Is it best I cut my losses and move out?

It is only through recognising our shortcomings can we improve. Stick around and make a differnece to that 11 year old. Your wife will go from sole mate to flat mate and back again half a dozen times between now and when one of you falls off the perch. Try to remember what made you fall in love with her the first time around.

Look online to see if there are any AlAnon meetings in your area. AlAnon is a support group for friends and family of alcoholics. There are even divisions for teens. Hope this helps.

Cuz you said part of me wants to respect your body, if you think of it that way, definately at all cost wait. Because a lot of people when they are this young, will regret it.

I am 16 and no i am not a virgin, but i don't regret it. We broke up now but part of me still likes him, he changed. I still deeply love the person he was before, but its just life is unpredictable, he seems to be a total different person now. And probably when i do find a new lover then i'd regret it because first time hurts and i'd probably think, im sorry for not saving it for you, to be able to go through the pain together. =)

well people would look at you differently if they find out. haha. obviously right? If you're not ready for pregnancy then definately dont, because before we did it we laid it all out and talked about what would happen. If this guy loves you obviously he'd respect your decision and wait too.

Both have to want it to work. Counseling is a good option. But if both partners aren't for fixing things it's best to just let it go.

I think I don’t love my husband anymore, I’m still coming home because he wants to save the marriage and I want to give it a try. But until now, i still feel passive, like nothing will change, like, life is boring with him. I don’t know how to break it up. Like I want to put some spice into our lives. Maybe if he’ll do the extra effort, (because he isn’t) maybe that can change my view. I guess I just need a little support from him. I need more love, care, and make me feel so special. Communicate, Communicate, Communicate!!!!. That is what my husband and I been doing since we started to work on our marriage. Its been working so much better for us and when there is something that we don’t like that we say or how we say it to each other we make sure that we tell each other. Our marriage is much better than what it was, I had already filed for divorce papers in the beginning of our separation and now our marriage its so much better. We are also doing our “date night” that we could not do before because we have 3 kids but we now must do date night and enjoy ourselves for the night while kids are with grandparents. Go out again like you use to, start going out like you guys did in the beginning believe me it works, you guys will fall for each other all over again. Good Luck!!!!

my wife cries everyday because she thinks I will burn in hell. I told her I don’t believe in that silly bible stuff but it don’t stop her from crying.

No don’t lie to her. She will continue to pray for your soul. She loves you and doesn’t want you to burn in hell. Give religion a chance before you totally disagree with her. She only wants the best for you. Please don’t wait to long because if you do God will stop sending the Holy Spirit to you. If you feel a tug at your heart you know that its God letting you know he is there for you. God does love you and so does your wife.

I lied in the beginning over pointless stuff. now after 3 yrs my wife that is a christian is wanting a divorce, I pray God's spirit moves on her heart and mind.And helps her to forgive me the damage I caused, and allows him to restore our marriage.

Stay faithful to God, keep praying, and don't get angry with her. Just SHOW her that you are not the same person anymore.

A friend of mine recently almost lost her husband due to problems in their marriage. He left her this past summer, but now they are getting back together. She stayed faithful and prayerful, patient, and loving and it made the difference.
